Actress Roxanne Pallett has teamed up with the Samaritans to support its Christmas message by 'reminding anyone who finds the festive season a struggle that Samaritans volunteers are there round the clock every single day of the year, including Christmas and New Year'.

Pallett, who recently visited the charity's branch in Nelson in Lancashire, commented 'Christmas is meant to be a magical time of year where we celebrate with friends and family. But for many people it can actually magnify their problems, making them feel isolated and alone. Just talking to someone can lift some of the heaviness and anxiety and can help you begin to find a way through. That's why nobody needs to feel alone this Christmas'.
